The Challenge
The home had four different floor surfaces that all had to come out before a single new plank could go down: carpet in the living areas, vinyl over luan in the kitchen, existing hardwood in the foyer and dining room, and carpet on the stairs. Getting every surface to the same clean, flat subfloor is the unglamorous part of a full-home install that most homeowners never see. The open-concept layout with columns also meant the floor had to read consistently from the kitchen through the dining area and into the living room as one continuous field.
What We Did
We demoed all existing surfaces down to the subfloor, prepped the field, and applied a roll-on moisture barrier across the entire main level before installation began. Innova SPC in Pearl River went down throughout the main floor, running continuous through the kitchen, dining area, and living room. The staircase was finished with custom-cut LVP treads to match, carrying the floor from the main level up. The result is one consistent surface from the front door through every room on the main level and up the stairs.
