LVP Installation Over Worn Engineered Hardwood in Miriah Towns, Garner

A Garner townhouse rental needed new flooring after a previous tenant left the engineered hardwood worn and damaged. LVP installed directly over the existing floor delivered a clean, durable result without the cost of full demo and replacement.

The Challenge

The engineered hardwood throughout this Miriah Towns townhouse was too far gone to refinish after heavy tenant use. Full demo and replacement with new hardwood was an option, but the cost of removal, disposal, and reinstallation would have significantly exceeded the budget. The owner needed a floor that was fresh, durable, and ready for the next occupant without a full gut job.

What We Did

LVP installed directly over the existing engineered hardwood throughout the main level, covering the living room, dining area, and kitchen. The engineered hardwood provided a stable, flat substrate that LVP can float over without additional subfloor prep. No demo. No disposal. No subfloor work. The gray-toned LVP reads clean throughout the unit and holds up to the demands of rental traffic.

The existing engineered hardwood left by the previous tenant. The dark finish was worn, scratched, and beyond what refinishing could recover at a practical cost. LVP over the top was the right call.
